Dalla lettera autografa al fantasma di Margherita, fino alla descrizione dei palazzi edificati in suo onore: palazzo Farnese e palazzo Madama, a Roma.
Nel cinquecentenario della nascita della duchessa e governatrice Margherita D’Austria, un tributo a una figura simbolo della città dell’Aquila: l’ultimo libro della giornalista, scrittrice e saggista, Monica Pelliccione. Margherita d’Austria e L’Aquila, protagoniste sulla scena, nobildonna e regnante la prima, città dai fasti antichi la seconda, sono come un fiume carsico che emerge nell’Europa del XVI secolo. Le loro vicende si intrecciano in un libro che è narrazione e ricordo, una rievocazione storica che si dipana nei secoli. Ne è testimonianza palazzo Margherita che da “Margarita”, come si firmava nelle epistole, prende il nome. Regia Curia del Capitano nel XIII secolo, viene riprogettato da Pico Fonticulano, per accogliere la Duchessa Margherita, il 16 dicembre del 1572, nominata dal fratello Filippo D’Asburgo, Governatrice della città.
